McLane Children's Scott & White - Temple Towne Center Clinic
Our goal at the McLane Children's - Temple Towne Center Clinic is to provide personalized, comprehensive care in a quality manner by integrating evidence-based medicine, experience, and reason with your personal expectations. We want to involve you in your child’s healthcare and in the decision-making for that care. We believe that we can achieve our twin goals of excellence in patient care and patient satisfaction at every visit.
Led by Medical Director Robert E. Burke, MD, PhD, our pediatricians focus on your child’s overall health. We schedule regular checkups at times that correlate with immunization requirements and major developmental changes. Growth and development, immunizations, and parental concerns are addressed at these checkups. Prenatal visits to meet your selected primary care provider can also be scheduled to discuss expectations for hospital care, circumcisions, breastfeeding, early care of the newborn, and any other personal concerns.
All of our physicians are specialists who have specifically studied for the comprehensive care of children in the first two decades of life by completing a three-year residency in pediatrics after completion of medical school. They are all specialty board eligible or board certified, and they are required to maintain that certification regardless of how many years of experience they have. All of our physicians practice and teach state-of-the-art care to our resident physicians and medical students. Their performance is reviewed on a regular basis throughout the year.
Integrated approach across different locations
We offer several Temple-area sites to better serve our patients; these include the McLane Children's - Temple Clinic and the West Temple Clinic.
It does not matter which site you select because Scott & White has an electronic medical records system and an integrated approach to care. You should always first seek care with your pediatric primary care physician or nurse practitioner. He or she will be able to meet all of your child’s healthcare needs either at that site or by seamless referral to any of the subspecialists at McLane Children's Hospital Scott & White, located right here in Temple.
