A hospital just for children

McLane Children’s Hospital Scott & White is located at 1901 SW H.K. Dodgen Loop in Temple. Our hospital is designed with your child in mind with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and accommodations sized just for children. Our bright and colorful, friendly atmosphere creates a nurturing place for the children of Central Texas to heal and thrive.

When your child needs medical care, it is only natural that stress levels rise. A potential hospital stay can create fear or worry for young patients. That is why we created an environment that is soothing and familiar for your child and for you.

Our facility is focused in every way on children and their families and offers equipment to suit smaller patients and family-centered spaces.

McLane Children's Hospital includes:

  • 24-hour pediatric Emergency Department
  • Pediatric surgery with four advanced surgical suites and a three-room procedure suite
  • Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Center with state-of-the-art MRI and a "Flash CT" scanner that takes an image in less than eight seconds

Warm and Friendly Atmosphere

At McLane Children's, you will find we have used the colors, textures and warmth of a Texas landscape to craft a calm and welcoming atmosphere. It is just another way to let you know that we care for the whole person, right down to the smallest details that inspire confidence in the care your child is receiving.

Our lobby features a large, open area that gently curves to the front reception desk. The design was inspired by a "Texas meadow" to create a relaxing, safe retreat, protected by trees, encircled by the hills and rocks that is a stage for sunrises and sunsets and is accessible to patients, families and staff. Following this concept, warm materials and design.

Comforting Patient Rooms

In the patient rooms, soft arcs are used in the floor pattern design, reminiscent of rolling hills and colors are alternated to aid in way-finding and help individualize the rooms. The arc continues into the patient room in the floor pattern and is reflected in the ceiling. The custom headwall design uses warm wood tones and accent bands wit ha curve at the top of the headwall to create a cohesive design element. The footwall features an accent wall, artwork and a marker board within patient view to write notes on or displays cards.

We hope you feel the compassion and love that went into the design of McLane Children's Hospital and know that we are committed to providing only the best for your children, for your family and for Central Texas.
